Terms of Service

Effective date: October 14, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Slabby mobile application (the “App”), published by Yacine Kahlis. By using the App, you agree to these Terms.

Prices are market data, not an appraisal. The prices in the App are market prices from third-party card marketplaces, provided to us by third-party data providers. Slabby never makes a price up and never estimates one with AI: when no source covers a print, it shows nothing. But these prices are indicative only. They can be out of date, incomplete or wrong, they do not account for your card's condition, and they are not an offer to buy or sell your card, nor financial or investment advice.

Using the App

You must be at least 13 years old to use Slabby. You are responsible for the photos you submit, and for any decision you make based on the App's readings or prices, including buying, selling, grading or insuring a card.

Your photos

You keep ownership of the photos you take. When you submit a photo for a reading, you grant us a limited license to process it, and to have our AI provider process it, solely to provide the App's features to you. How your photos are handled is described in our Privacy Policy.

Card readings

Cards are identified by an AI model from your photo, then matched against card catalogues. The identification can be wrong, especially with glare, blur, an unusual print or a card the catalogues do not have. Check the card, its set, its number and its print (Normal, Holo, Reverse Holo, 1st Edition…) before relying on a price: you can choose another print, pick from the closest matches, or search by name. Slabby does not authenticate cards and cannot tell a genuine card from a counterfeit.

Prices

Beta features

Some features are in beta, offered only where available and labelled as such in the App: cards of games other than Pokémon (priced with Near Mint market prices) and graded prices (the market prices of copies graded by PSA). We do not promise that a beta feature will be available to you. Beta features are incomplete: some games, cards, prints or grades are missing, their prices may be less reliable, and they may change, be paused or be removed at any time. Slabby never grades your card and never guesses its grade: a graded price only says what copies with that grade sell for, not what grade your card would get.

Fair use

Fair-use limits apply to scans, including a maximum number of readings per day. These limits keep the service available and its costs under control.

Acceptable use

Subscriptions

Your data

Your binder, card photos and settings are stored locally on your iPhone, as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for keeping your own device backups; we cannot recover data that is lost when a device is lost or reset, when the App is deleted, or when you use Delete all my data, which cannot be undone.

Intellectual property and non-affiliation

The App, including its design, artwork, text, and code, is owned by Yacine Kahlis and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you a personal, non-transferable license to use the App on your Apple devices; they do not transfer any ownership to you.

Slabby is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, Wizards of the Coast, Konami, Bandai, Disney, Ravensburger or any other card game publisher, nor by any marketplace, price provider or grading company. Card names, artwork, set symbols and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are shown only to identify your cards.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the App, including losses from buying, selling, trading, grading or insuring cards in reliance on its readings or prices, or for any indirect or consequential damages. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the App is to stop using it.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the App's scanning features if you violate these Terms. You can stop using the App at any time; deleting it from your iPhone removes your local data.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under the mandatory consumer-protection laws of the place where you live.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
